Shannon Storer grew up dancing in Shawnee, KS at a young age and fell in love with the art form at her very first recital. She continued her studio training through high school, danced for her high school’s drill team then continued on to dance at the collegiate level as a Kansas State University Classy Cat.

Her senior year in high school, she was invited to join the staff of National Dance Alliance (NDA) and teach summer camps across the nation. She spent 13 summers teaching, choreographing, leading camps and judging competitions for NDA, and absolutely fell in love with the dance team world.

NDA opened the door for Shannon to begin freelance choreography across the nation. Her dance team choreography credits include many notable programs including KU, K-State, UMKC, Iowa State, Kentucky, Purdue, and The Ohio State University. Additionally, she has set work on high schools from coast to coast. Her work has earned countless Innovative Choreography awards and was even featured in a full-length Japanese film. Through NDA, Shannon has been fortunate enough to travel to Hawaii & Tokyo to teach master classes and was on the judging panel for the Japan Cheer Dance Association Nationals.

In 2005, Shannon began coaching the dance team at Olathe Northwest High School. To date, she has led her team to 23 straight NDA National Championship Titles, including an International Title from the 2017 competition. They also hold the title of State Champion for Kansas in 2021. Her 2016 team was chosen to appear in the aforementioned Japanese feature film, which was filmed in San Diego, CA.

Her love & passion for teaching & coaching is what led her to bring All Star Dance to the Kansas City area. She loves all that the All Star Dance Industry stands for & is invested in not only training her dancers’ technique, but more importantly, their whole being. She is committed to creating a culture of acceptance, encouragement, grace & guidance & loves playing a role in each of her dancers’ journeys.

Shannon’s vision for TKO is to create a home away from home that fosters safety, acceptance, personal growth & increased confidence all while providing opportunities for artistic expression & movement exploration.
